PAPER -1Detailedstudy of a Literary age (19th Cent) The paper will cover the study of English Literature from 1798 to 1900 withspecial reference to the works of Wordsworth . Coleridge, Keats, Shelley .Tennyson Browning and Arnold, Dickens , George Eliot Thomas Hardy, Lamb,Hazlitt,Carlyle Ruskin , Pater. Candidates will be expected to show first hand knowledge of the works of theabove auhors.
They will also be expected to be acquainted with the main Literary trends ofthe period as well as the social and cultural background of the age.
